Two Years

I still perfectly remember the feeling of not being able to sleep the night before, in disbelief that the two years had come and gone. Brad served an LDS mission in Chile for two years, and it felt like he only existed in a photograph or a letter! I couldn’t believe that I would have him in my arms in less that 24 hours! I will never forget making eye contact with his handsome face as he came down those escalators! The whole thing was so surreal, especially the moment he wrapped his arms around me and held me tight. We had a couple nervous/awkward moments, but I was surprised how quick things clicked back into place with us. How not weird things were! I guess it makes sense how we got engaged exactly one month later… Heh heh… We’ve had so many experiences this past year together (it’s gone way too fast), and I am so excited for the years to come!

Hi fellow Hailey. πŸ˜‰ I stumbled upon your blog through instagram (your Halloween costume you entered into Feral Watches' costume contest was awesome to say the least:) and I'm so glad I did! I watched your video and got teary eyed! I don't know you or your husband, but goodness it touched me, absolutely loved it. Your future babes will treasure it forever!

And my sister arrived in Chile (Santiago) for her mission two weeks ago. πŸ™‚ And she's loving it! Needed the reminder today that time will fly…miss her tons.

PS – Happy one year anniversary of having him back in your arms forever! πŸ™‚

PPS – Where is your husband from?

      Hey Haley!
Thank you so much! That is so cool your sister is serving in Santiago, that is where Brad's (my hisband's) grandparents currently live and where his Mom grew up. (Yes, he is half English and half Chilean. Interesting mix huh? Haha!) I know the people will take great care of your sister. My Husband is from Milton Keynes, England. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for following!

Me and my best friend seriously are obsessed with your videos. Especially this one. Her missionary leaves next week to the Phillipines and mine is leaving February 13 for Houston, Texas. Day before Valentine's Day :/ so… if there is any advice from anyone on how to not die these next two years, I'm all ears. Seriously though, I love this video. And all your videos. Enough said.

My advice would be to have a positive attitude through the whole thing. Try something new while he's gone and write him about your adventures! The more you sit and mope around (and believe me, I moped) the slower time goes. I realized that when I started getting out, having fun, our letters had more excitement and also time went by so much quicker! Get creative with your missionary. πŸ™‚ Send a piece of string to him that measures how tall you've gotten (or how not tall you've gotten haha) over the past few months… Make it a positive experience for you both, and I promise, you will survive. πŸ˜‰ Good luck you cuties!

Oh my goodness, this video makes me cry every single time! I love you guys, I even have a Hailey Haugen Devine Playlist on Spotify with all of my favorite songs from your videos. I never went on Spotify looking for followers, but I get notifications all the time that people follow that playlist! You are truely loved Hailey, you give hope to all of us crazy girls who decide to wait for our missionaries.
